(Amino acids are compounds that cause chemical reactions in the body, which help your metabolism. It is low in cholesterol, low in calories and high in iron & B vitamins.
I find the best way to cook venison is for a long time and the use of water during the cooking process helps to keep the meat moist and not dry out. So using a slow cooker to create your evening meal of venison is the perfect option. This is a very tasty recipe that has everyone coming back for more.
2 teaspoons garlic
1 tin crushed tomatoes
3 Tablespoons Tomato paste
2 cups beef stock
2 bay leaves
1 teaspoon chilly flakes
1 teaspoon mixed herbs
1 cup red wine
Salt & Pepper
I have a searing slow cooker so I can do all of this in the one pan. If you do not have a searing slow cooker fry meat off in pan and then move to slow cooker following on from step 2.
1. Place a splash of olive oil in pan over high heat. Add garlic and place meat in pan to sear on both sides.
2. Pour in wine.
3. Smear meat with tomato paste.
4. Cover meat with seasoning, herbs, chilly flakes and crushed tomatoes.
5. Add beef stock and bay leaves.
6. cook on high heat in the slow cooker for 8 hours
The amount of time you cook the meat for can be more or less. The longer you slow cook the venison for the easier it will come away from the bone or break apart, the softer and tastier the meat will be.
You can serve this dish with a side of rice and salad. Cover the rice with the juices from the slow cooker. Delicious!
